Building LED panels is hard

Building LED panels is hard

Not that I thought it would be a straightforward task, I figured it’d be a fun, challenging project that would take a few months. It would be fine once I got into it, not too hard, right?

Turns out it was pretty hard, and took a while longer than I'd anticipated.

It’s been a journey of learning new tools, burning through test builds, fiddling with settings that didn’t make sense until hours later, and placing far too many late night parts orders for what turned out to be entirely the wrong thing. I’ve had LEDs flicker to life beautifully on the first try, I’ve had others refuse to light up no matter how nicely I asked, and I've seen some truly head scratching issues that I may never know the answers to.

I kept plugging away at it though, and it slowly came together. I started figuring out what actually works. Which parts play nicely. Information I missed due to not knowing what I was looking for. Eventually it all felt a little less mysterious.

This website marks the point where I finally get to start sharing all of that with you.

Pixelgrinder LED is my way of helping others build their own LED panels and screens, without all the frustration and guesswork I had to wade through. Whether you’re here for a DIY project, or you just want to plug in a pre-built screen and watch it go, I’ve got you.

There’ll be more tutorials, tips, and stories coming soon. But for now, thanks for being here.

Let's build something awesome together. :)
