Step 6 : Attach PSU to backplate

Adding the first actual component, the power supply for your new panel!

  • Mean Well PSU UHP-200A-5 200W 5V
    C03 : 200W | 5V Mean Well PSU1x
  • M3 18mm Countersunk Machine Screw
    D06 : 12mm Countersunk Screws | M32x
  • M3 1mm silicone washers
    D08 : 12mm x 1mm Silicone Washer | M32x
  • M3 nylon nuts
    D10 : 2mm Nylon Nuts | M32x

Tools

  • Screwdriver
    Torx  -  T8
    A Torx bit or Hex Key will work here

Instructions

1 - Add screws to backplate ready for PSU

Push the screws through the holes shown in the image from the back of the panel to the inside.
The PSU should be mounted over the airflow grill.
Don't forget the washers! They make it a lot easier to turn the panel back over once you have the screws through the holes.
Attach a nylon nut to the very end of the screw closest to the frame side. This will make the next bit much easier.

2 - Attach PSU to back plate

Ensure you have the PSU the correct way around, as shown in the images.
Slide the mounting slot on the PSU onto the screw with the nut already attached.
Seat the other PSU mounting slot over the other screw and attach a nut to it. This is really fiddly!
Secure the PSU to the back plate by tightening the screws whilst holding the nuts still. A finger against the side of the nuts is enough.
